Punting Kitties

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

I can not express how at times the two little adorable fluff ball kitties, who fill my life with joy, love and amusement manage to piss me off enough that I start thinking cat soup would be a wonderful winter time dish. Unfortunately, we do not have a freezer chest yet and two cats make a lot of soup. I’d hate for any to go to waste. A note to people considering bringing a bundle of pet joy into your house: Make sure you have kitchen implements large enough to fit said pet, some potato and cooking oil in it without spilling over. It’s quite the hassle to realize mid fry that your pot is too small.

I’m Gonna Be

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

Heh, I guess when I said “See ya tomorrow” in Friday’s entry I was actually saying “Look here, I’m going to disappear off the face of the earth for a couple days, Mmm’Kay? Yeah, I know about the whole JSFR promise but…errr…see the next entry is a big entry and I want to do it up right so I’m going to not post anything and then come back Tuesday with a lame excuse.” It really is true. This entry is the 500th entry on the booniverse (whooooo!) although the entry number according to MT’s entry tracking system is actually 509. I don’t quite understand that BUT I’m going by the “number of entries” listed on the splash page of “yo. What do you want to do with this here blog”. Nuff said. Hurrah 500!

The Dawn of the Weekend

Friday, September 24th, 2004

Greetings y’all on a Friday that just WOULD NOT GET HERE ALREADY. Hrumph! Wednesday was my cranky day and Thursday felt like Friday and now it’s Friday again and the day is slithering along at slug speed. I need to find some gigantic bigger than day deity to pick up this slug slow day and fling it as hard as he/she/they/it can against the weekend wall. That way wala! It’s Saturday and I’m sleeping in and I will have already done the damned shopping.

Sad Things a Happening

Thursday, September 23rd, 2004

Ehhhhh, BAH! I was Having. A. Day. yesterday and wrote about it in a generally vague way but I never did finish it. Then, I wasn’t at work and lo! I was much happier (imagine that). To sum up: Work = bad; not work = good. That about covers it all, I do believe. I did reprint my first paragraph, though, just to show y’all what I have saved you from by deleting the entire post. Trust me, it went spiraling down into a huge hole of WAH! Take a look:

The Joy of Tuesday SAST

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

Hey look! No muffin pictures. You are indeed special today, although this does remind me that I have not done a picto-blog for a while now. You are warned!

Chill in the Bones

Monday, September 20th, 2004

Here are the low fat lemon poppy seed muffins I made for this week. They rock the lemon and the poppy seed, yo, but the low fat is a little thin tasting. Will the madness ever stop? Maybe. Will you have to look at new muffin pictures every Monday? Quite possibly. Just be glad TheMan and I don’t have any kids. Yet.

Deja Thursday

Friday, September 17th, 2004

I love the weeks where Friday rolls around but it feels more like it is Thursday. By the end of the day it hits me that I Don’t Have To Come In To Work Tomorrow! and it feels like I’ve just worked a short week. Whoooo! On the other hand, I’ve had way too many more of the kind of weeks where Wednesday feels like it should be Friday and by the time Friday actually gets here it feels like I am on my seventh straight day of work. Plus, every time I wake up after Wednesday, when it should have been the weekend, I had to go to work so by Friday my poor body thinks it is in hell and will be coming to work every day for the rest of my life.

Kick Back Thursday

Thursday, September 16th, 2004

I’m eating a bag of carrots and for every one I crunch I’m thinking “This is not a bite of chocolate cake”. Carrots are a very poor substitute, I want some cake damnit!

Calling in Stupid

Wednesday, September 15th, 2004

No, no, don’t worry, I made it to work today but only in the basic corporeal sense. Mentally I burrowed back under the covers about two minutes after I “got up” this morning and I do believe I am still there. Lemmie check…oh yeah, got the blankie and the double pillow sandwich thing going on, I don’t expect I’ll wake up for another hour or two. It’s days like this when I wish I could call up the boss and say, “Yeah, I’m not going to be into work today because I was a dumbass and boogered around until the not so wee hours of the morning.”

Monday Thingits

Monday, September 13th, 2004

Here is this week’s muffin offering: Squash Muffinous sub species Freezer clean-outis. I’m not particularly wanting to showcase the muffins here, although they did turn out mighty fine if I may say so, nor am I wanting to showcase the world’s ugliest plate pattern ever (Mmm! Geometric black and teal! Shut-up about my plates, I love them in all their ugliness). The star of this pic is what the muffins are sitting on: An honest to goodness bona fide cooling rack (of doom). Whooo! And the fans went wild (all one of them), whooping it up and trashing the place! Hooooo! Hoooo!

Getting the Collar

Friday, September 10th, 2004

Is this not the most beautiful collar ever? Yes it is! Just look at it’s innate collarness, there could be none finer.

Invasion of the Sanity Snatchers

Thursday, September 9th, 2004

Meh, I don’t have much to talk about today except for the FREEKIN STUDENTS who are busy clogging up the campus. Bah! Students! I went to go hang with Shar for lunch and OH! The HUMANITY! They had no less than a bazillion tables set up for every single type of campus group you could possibly imagine all throughout the diag. Women Rec Volleyball? Right here! Co-ed Campus Glee Club? Over there! Students for Waterskiing? Across the Way! Join! Join! Join! The competing swag was fun though. Engineering Undergrads had kewl geegaws while Students for a Better Way Of Life had magnets and then there was the munchables. Always popular is the Giant Bag of Dum-Dums (because you get a zillion suckers for about a buck) but if you really cared, you would spend the extra dough and offer up some Cream Savers or even go all out and get the Hershey Minis.
