I just inherited a bag of *New* Brach’s Jelly Beans (in 8 Flavors!), which I find a tad bizarre as there is only one color of bean in the whole bag. I suppose it saves on coloring if you make all eight flavors purple, plus it adds to the element of surprise! With multi colors you were pretty sure orange was going to be the flavor orange, or some sort of tangerine (which is basically orange if you are talking apples and oranges here) and green would be lime or occasionally watermelon. Now, orange is purple, watermelon is purple, cinnamon is purple. Oh yeah, and grape is purple too. Actually, I have no idea what flavor they are, the one I just ate was reminiscent of cinnamon but it could be my plork playing tricks on me. Or maybe the beans have a chameleonesque taste quality that makes them seem to taste like just about anything. Tofu beans! GAK, I have discovered their deep dark purple bean secret!

Or maybe I should have called this “Pocket, pocket, who’s got the pocket?” It was another “Teach boo to sew” night tonight and the project du…errr…night was POCKET! The whole sewing part of the evening, which was just shy of two hours I think, consisted of following steps 3 – 5 (1 and 2 being pin and cut respectively).

Some Friday Blibber Blabber

Friday, September 3rd, 2004

Woah! Yesterday was a bunch of morose (heh, like that word too) and quasi angst all leaking out all over wasn’t it? Oi! Fortunately, today I am well caffeinated (Thank you Large Ass Starbuck’s Cinnamon Spice Mocha, which is one of the only ways to drink their nasty coffee) and on the verge of “hopped up on a good sugar buzz” so I’m feeling the fine at the moment. I also realized something last night that put things into perspective: I think a lot of people are confusing popularity with quality and there in lies a good deal of the internet Journaler problem. See, I’ll only spend money on a book if I like and enjoy the author’s work because life it too short to waste moolah on crap writing. The internet, on the other hand, is free. I’ll read a whole lot of mediocre stuff because duhhhh…free and bored and easily entertained here. I know I wouldn’t even look twice at the same stuff if I had to shell out cash to read it. I’m not sure some people get that.

Blog, Damnit!

Hmmm, I might as well write something today because I didn’t write anything yesterday and woe to the journaler who misses a couple days! Why, that boo, first she updates regularly and then two days in a row there is no entry. I guess she wasn’t a serious journaler after all.
