Geocaching the Town

In which we find out how many hills the Arb actually has and theorize that anyone who lived on a street that had an inconveniencing hill petitioned the city to have that hill relocated into the Arb because damn!

That, my readers, is the camp toaster. Does it not rock the supreme toast rockage? It is the best toaster ever.

Caching Moose of the UP

Saturday, May 28th, 2005

There wasn’t much more to tell about Friday after the picto-blogging because The Man and I hung out for an hour or two, then went to bed and slept until dinner time. I hate when I get all out of wang like that. Anyhow, by Saturday we were human again and decided to do some human family oriented social like things which included geocaching, unexpected moose watching and a trip to Thill’s.

Generic Title 428

Yes indeedy do, as you might have guessed from yesterday’s entry, Saturday I went and saw Star Wars Whatever, prelude to the Original Three. All I have to say that I haven’t already is: People best not be getting it in to their heads to start calling Star Wars “A New Hope” or I’m going to start cracking heads.

I so totally need to get me a “Han Shot First” shirt. Hrrumph.

I’d Give It A Thumbs Up If I Weren’t Afraid I’d Lose it

A Long Long 28 years ago, in a town too far away to comfortably walk from, there was a little boo who heard about The. Best. Movie. Ever. The little boo really wanted to see this Best. Movie. Ever. but the little boo was only 7 years old and couldn’t yet drive herself to the theaters. So, the little boo begged her boo parents to pleeeeeeease take her to this Best. Movie. Ever. but her boo parents thought the whole spectacle was just too crazy what with the lines and the furor and whatnot. They did promise that the whole boo family would go to see The. Best. Movie. Ever. when it came to the cheapy theater. And thus, the whole boo family only had to wait in line for a half hour to get tickets a full year after the release date of the Best. Movie. Ever.

Rethinking an Idea

Friday, May 20th, 2005

OK! After getting my list of Hugos and excitedly zooming home to see what all TheMan and I had in terms of Hugoage I discovered that we would need to be purchasing about half to two thirds of the list (more if I was going to be over ambitious and read the nominees as well). Fine by me! More books means tastier shelves. Mmmm, shelves full of new shiny unread books waiting to be explored. Then something terrible happened. I looked at the Illuminati Trilogy hanging out (on its side because I’m currently using it and the Foundation trilogy as book ends) unread on my shelves (OK so the integration process is a might slow. Yes, there is still a section of my books that are not totally integrated into our books yet) and Responsible Brain sort of sidled up to me and said “You know, you never did get around to reading that.”

A friend of mine had a meme about books, which got me to thinking about some of my favorite stories, and another friend had a meme about “Which Sci-Fi writer are you?” which got me to thinking about Sci-Fi authors in general (I was Arthur C. Clarke in case you were dying to know). Then I got to thinking about notable (and non notable) Sci-Fi authors and finally it all ended up with me looking for a list of Hugo winners for the novel category arranged by year.

I Guess This Is The Usual

Monday, May 16th, 2005

Guess who yanked a dishwasher Friday. Also, guess who injured their back slightly doing it. Guess who had to unplug all their electronic equipment because of a huge thunderstorm and guess who was tending to dinner and missed the most romantic stormy part of the weather. Guess who took a nap Friday and guess who fell asleep and thereby failed to wake up the napping person for Stargate. Guess who has missed Stargate for three weeks running now. Guess who spent far too much time playing World of Warcraft. Guess who laughed themselves silly playing with emotes and new characters. Guess who created a gnome (who may or may not be named “Tan”) and accidentally took the tram to the other side of the continent and then decided to walk back. Guess who found out where all the high end zones are. Guess who drank just a wee bit too much wine and had a most righteous headache (to go with their righteous pillowhawk). Guess who played even more WoW and finally, guess who went out for Japanese and got sushi.

Mmmmm, sushi. Well, I guess that was the weekend in a nut shell.

It’s Rather Easy Being Green, Actually.

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Today was the big GREEN CLEAN day here at the U. Or maybe at my small part of the U. Again, not too sure on that, but I did get a nice polo shirt out of the deal. Go me! I had to rearrange my schedule a bit in order to appear for my assigned 9:00 to 10:00 shift because I had two other things already going on for that same time slot. I wound up being about a half hour late but I planned on doing 2 hours of Green Clean time anyway so they made out in the end. Why they couldn’t have asked for times before making the schedule out in the first place is still a mystery. Hrrrmph.

What’s Going On.

Thursday, May 12th, 2005

You are going to thank me for not posting yesterday because yesterday was a day full of HATE and CRANK! I was going to go off on a nut about this and that and the other so I just sat and stewed instead of spitting web venom. You’re welcome.

My Bologna Has A First Name

Tuesday, May 10th, 2005

It’s B-O-R-E-D!

And I can see why I don’t typically post on Tuesdays. One, I never really do anything truly exciting on Mondays, especially compared to a whole weekend recap. And two, (which I think really needs its own sentence that has a logical and grammatically correct sentence structure), errrmmmm, two I’m lazy. However, today I’m bored. Bored, bored, bored so I thought I’d just post a little bit of bits and call it good.

Hey, sounds like an SAST!

A Name Which Has Nothing To Do With Content

Monday, May 9th, 2005

I really need to come up with a bunch of better titles for weekend recaps but first, today is Mr. Paul’s birthday. If you see him, say hello, maybe wish him a happy one. And give him a plastic flamingo.
