SAST V. errr…How Do You Spell a Gigillion?

Friday, July 29th, 2005

So here’s how it is: I have a million things to say and one update. Hang onto your seats folks, I feel a mighty huge SAST coming on!

Oh Canada!

On Canadian road perils and other observations during the Transplant Games.

In No Language Does “Barista” Mean “Entitled”

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

I’d like to say up front that A: It is very seldom that I run into a barista Nazi at my local Starbucks. B: Starbucks has ASS for coffee (and I’ll happily go on record as saying that so feel free to quote me since they really do) but they make a darned fine sweetie drink (and I’ll go on record as saying that as well. One of my very favorite coffee drinks is a humungous Starbucks Cinnamon Spiced Mocha. MmmmMmmm!). C: Small, Medium, Large. Live it, Love it, Learn it, USE IT FUCKERS!

I Went To Canada For The Week And All You Get Is This Teaser Entry

Monday, July 25th, 2005

OK, OK, OK, I’m updating already. Sheesh. Actually, I’ve been out of town hanging in sunny Canada (and let me tell you, it was surprisingly sunny there last week) doing odds and ends at the XV International World Transplant Games. I was a me of all trades so I got to take some pics (with the cranky camera – ours is still (STILL!) at the camera docs), record some audio, write some stories, be the transportation captain (if you ever need to get around London, Ontario, drop me a line), do some office manager stuff and yell at a Starbuck’s Employee.

All in all it was a great vacation.

Look At Me, All Posting and Whatnot!

Heh, no I didn’t fall off the face of the earth (although that would have been much more exciting than what I have been doing lately) I’ve just been doing…errr…things. No! Stuff. Yes, stuff. Definitely stuff. Maybe some things too, but mostly stuff.

Finally, Wine (and Other Weekend Excursions)

Tuesday, July 12th, 2005

It is impossible for me to write five consecutive entries I do believe. Thank your lucky stars all you booniverse readers because nothing truly goes on here a whole lot and writing every day might just be a cure for insomnia. Besides, writing every day is an awful lot like work and I’m not only the president of the Cheeto Butt society, I’m a member too.

We didn’t get to the cherry wine yesterday because the camera was sort of accidentally forgotten and I wanted to take pics of the process. Besides, Saturday should be a much better day for making wine, right? Right!

As Easy as Cherry Wine

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

Sometimes we plan a batch of wine and line up a shopping trip to pick up the fruit of choice while other times we will be ho-humming along and FRUIT! It happened two years ago with the spontaneous blueberry wine and this week TheMan and I happen to find ourselves in possession of about 3 gallons of tart cherries. Out of the blue, Scott H sent us an e-mail saying “Want a gallon or two of tart cherries?” followed up by another e-mail which said, more or less, “My neighbor’s tree was loaded with cherries – 3.5 gallons of cherries. I’m only using half a gallon, the rest are yours.” Yay Scott H! And Yay Scott H’s neighbor! And yay tart cherry tree!

America the Wet

Ahhhh, happy fourth and all (even though it’s a day late…had to post a JSFR to keep the junkies at bay). We didn’t do much in the way of celebrating since Sunday was a mighty day of sloth and we didn’t pick up any fireworks south of the border. I’ll give it to you Ohians, you can do the fireworks thing up proud. We, on the other hand, just couldn’t muster the energy to pull the car off the highway and stop somewhere for our flammables fix so nothing for us this year.

Origins ‘05: Something Boom! – A Pictoblog

Happy Red, White and Boom extravaganza. They have a big todo here in Columbus, called “Red , White and Boom” with concerts and fun and a really good fireworks display. The one thing I love about Columbus is that it has a bunch of big building that make it seem like a serious city, yet there is space between them so we could watch most of the fireworks from the drive of the Drury even though they were being fired off over two buildings away. Sadly, I have no fireworks shots for y’all.

What I do have is…
