Project: Acomplishment!

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

In a spat of craziness, we left the UP at 10 Monday night and drove through the dark hours until we met the sun about a half hour out from home. It’s the first time we’ve traveled the night run from the UP down as we usually save the crazy wee hour driving for the going north leg of the trip. Let me just say that night driving, if you can stay awake for it, wrocks (yo) the socks for the northbound leg because it’s just you and the early morning truckers pretty much all the way to the bridge.

Which Is Better: A or B?

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I took a short half day of work yesterday because I had an eye appointment and I had an extraneous three hours that was driving me nuts. I have no idea how I wound up with three hours and not two or four but when you get 12 vacation hours a month and you look at your accumulation and see 12.375 days that’s just not right. It ought to be 12.5 or 13.0 or even 12.25. Not X number and 0.375th of a leftover. Do you know how long it took me to figure out how many non half day hours that was? People, I had to do math.

And then I took them suckers as vacation so now everything is right with the world and my vacation hours fall on the full or half day. Bliss.

Hola booniverse peeps. I switched up the Friday Five because I’z got lots to say today and didn’t feel like post dating it to yesterday. Sometimes I fudge the dates of things if I can’t quite remember when we drove by something cool or whatnot, but I don’t like deliberately saying the Thursday stuff happened the day before when it clearly didn’t. Besides, five years from now when the police come all Law&Order to my door and get up in my grill about where I was May 10th, 2007 I can say “Well, I have no idea at the moment, but let me check my blog.” Which I will then do because who the heck remembers where they were five years ago? No really. Who? Unless it’s a memorable date, I’d say that chances are you don’t remember either. But! I can just waltz to the booniverse and be reasonably confident that last night on May 10th, 2007, I was out gardening for about two hours (between the times of 7pm and 9pm) and that I talked with my neighbors sometime during that time as they were walking their dogs home.

The Friday Thursday Five (5/10/07)

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Oooo! Another Friday Five to you from me. Today’s theme, I do believe, is going to be 5 things that have been amusing me as of late. (And yeah, it’s only Thursday if you are reading the archives through but that’s the beauty of post dating!)

Padding My Stats

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

I’ve just finished going through the March archives and repointing all the “last years” to the new host. Let me tell you, that messes with the server stats something fierce. TheMan was all “Hey! More than half the hits are for the booniverse!” until I asked him where people were looking. Hmmm. March. You know, almost as if someone were dinking about the March archives…oh say…clicking on them all in order to update the link history at the bottom of the page.

Still, for that tiny moment before I realized that I was the mad site clicker, I thought I was the shiznit!
