The Friday Five (11/28)

Shopping!

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?

Not so much. I occasionally like browsing for things that interest me but I don’t like dealing with lots of people. I also don’t like a shopping trip that starts out fruitless. I tend to give up easily if I am looking and not finding anything interesting. I can spend hours looking through books or DVDs if the store isn’t bazoo crazy with people. I hate shopping for clothes though, I have trouble finding things that I like and that fit. Most of my clothes shopping excursions end really fast; I either find what I want right away of I just decide to go somewhere else another time.

2. What was the last thing you purchased?

5 gallons of cider, some maple sugar candy and some chocolates. We did apple cider wine today, however we needed to get the cider before we made the wine. Ergo, apple cider! The candy is a surprise for my mumses (shhh!) and the chocolates are for Mr. Paul (Shhh!).

3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?

Hmmm. Online is easier for stuff that you are pretty sure about. DVDs, books, wine making stuff and that sort of things I prefer to get online. Sometimes it is nice to browse the cheapy books at Borders or just see what’s new in the store but when I know what book I want I prefer online. Besides, if you order things online they come in packages! I love coming home to packages.

Clothes, shoes or things that I’m not quite so sure about I would rather go to the store and be able to pick it up, poke it, sniff it or whatever. I hate returning things (I still have a pair of wedding slippers I need to return from a couple of months ago). OH! I also have some china I have to return because it had a rough travel in the mail. At the store you can see right there if something is broken, mostly.

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?

Ummm…yeah I got an allowance but beats me how much it was. I was a kid a long time ago. Maybe it was a couple bucks a week? I know it took about a month to save up for a Bryer horse and they were about nine bucks back then.

5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?

Hmmmm. Well, there were a few wedding supplies that got over purchased (too many glass bowels, too much fabric) but I don’t think I regret getting them. I even thought of a use for the yards of extra burgundy cloth. Whooo! Sure it would have been nice to know exactly how much to get so we didn’t have extras but oh well. I can find something to do with them. I have some other things I have gotten (shorts, musical instruments, books) that I haven’t used/read/can’t fit into yet but I figure that I’ll do something with them at some point in time.
