Belated Partial Loots

I don’t think I’ve talked about any of our Christmas haul yet, which surprises me. I’m usually all “LOOKIE WHAT I GOT!” the moment I get but not this time around. Hmm!

I got the traveling three of us some “Books on Tape” for the drive up north this Christmas and we had a most excellent time listening to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! One of our only quibbles is that they keep calling the zombies “Unmentionables” which makes us giggle. ‘They were attacked by unmentionables!’ “Oh really?” *gigglesnort* “I hate it when thongs go feral.”

This was a pretty winetastic year for TheMan and I. We got some…interesting wine in this colorform looking holder (which is keen!), some Rockwood (Ravenwood? Rosewood? I forget) from mom and Mr. Paul and Badmovie and LunarGeography brought us back a basket of wine and cheeses from Wisconsin. Yummmay.

Sis got us another Charlotte Fung Miller dragon watercolor (Water Dragon I believe) which was doubly awesome cool because I was there when she bought the thing and I totally forgot about it! I even saw her carrying it up the walk and thought, “Hmmm, that looks like some art. I wonder what it is?” Both this present and the BadGarden’s present I knew about beforehand and both presents I managed to forget about until I opened them. How cool is that?

Here is a rough hang of the new dragon. It needs to be centered and the other two pics I took down need a new home and I do believe that fire pic will go elsewhere eventually but I wanted to put the new dragon with the other two and that’s where the existing hook was. You Warcrafty types might get a kick out of my pic name (should come up in the rollover), I giggled when I named it.

Po-po-po-po-poker face! TheMan got me a stylophone! I have yet to figure out Poker Face but I noodled around a bit and finally was able to hack through Auld Lang Syne and then Edelweiss, which was somewhat appropriate. My rousting rendition of Auld Lang Syne happened to fall on New Year’s Eve. It takes me a while to get a song down, apparently.

Of course we weren’t the only ones who got gifts; the Weirdoes got some new drooly nom noms from the Qs. Two of them have been thoroughly ensconced in the nom nom rotation while the other two I’m holding in reserve. One of these days I’m going to move every parcel of furniture and reclaim all the cat toys. I think the Kittys’ heads very might well explode on that day.

2008: That was pretty much Sunday’s activities in a nutshell. Booze, food and commiseration.

2007: I can’t remember what I did last year.

2006: JSFR: Honey Mustard Pretz

2005: I have cookies and you don’t.

2004: Who would have thought that the nasty little snow that was hurling itself all pissey like from the heavens this morning would turn into a gloppy mess of slidy excitement?

2003: Ah… I have fond memories of the great canned cranberry harvests of the olden days…
