Musings of a Bored boo
I’m back from my Thursday hiatus, in which nothing in particularly noteworthy happened. Weather was here, wish you were beautiful. Heh, heh. I love that saying. Another good one is “If I promise to miss you, will you go away?” Not that I’m feeling antisocial at all towards the average person, just towards the average stupid person and today has already filled its quote for stupid people.
However, this isn’t going to be a blog rant about stupid people because I’m too sleepy to get a good crank going. I’d be all “Yeah and then there was this guy that sorta got me mad, or would have if I wasn’t looking for a soft spot to nap and anyway I just tuned him out and zoned and now everything peachy.” Yup, that’s my official stupid people rant for today. Go team, rant that rant, whatever…feed me a Cheeto. I will say that my boss is out for the day and that makes me pretty happy. I’d do the “Happy happy boss gone” dance for y’all but I tried that during lunch and it came out more like the “Happy happy boss gone sorta butt wiggle and pathetic arm whoop”. Eh, some days you dance the dance, some days you just smile and do a lame ass wiggle. It’s all good.
Hey, do you hear crickets? Just askin.
I don’t have a whole lot to say today so there will be no font of boo wisdom for y’all. Sorry about that. Instead, this is what’s been going on…more or less at the booniverse:
My crocheting project that I started way back in…err…I don’t know, November? October? Whenever it was, the project needs to be finished by Monday for the gift giving on Tuesday. Guess what’s not yet done? I think I crochet slower than I type and it’s a proven fact that even the dead can type faster than I can. Oi! The good part is that I’m almost done (I estimate about 14 rows and then the border and wala!) the sad part is that I probably wont have much more done Sunday than I have now. Whatever, my new and improved goal on this project is: It’s as done as it’s going to get on Sunday! If I get 14 rows done, GREAT! If I get 0 rows done, GREAT! Move ’em out, pack ’em up this puppy’s wrapped.
You want to hear something really sad? I learned to crochet in ’96 and since that time I’ve completed 2 full sized afghans, 1 baby blanket and 2 scarves (which used the same pattern). Come Tuesday my official record will be about 2/3 a project a year. Go me! Let’s not even start about counted cross stitch projects because I’ve managed to lose the one and only project I’ve ever attempted and it was maybe 75% complete. I guess I’m just not cut out to be a Suzy Homemaker.
This is not where I start talking about The Horde, although it might be appropriate. Moving on.
One thing I HAVE managed to complete is-
(brace yourselves)
[cue drum roll f/x]
a database for the JSFR. OK, I’ll wait a while for you people who have passed out from shock and surprise to come around again. You OK out there? Need to have a bit of a sit down? No worries, take your time. I’m not going anywhere (ethereally speaking, in reality I could be anywhere at the moment, but most likely napping). Everything good? Good!
Yes indeed, I sat down and typed in all 60 plus snack food entries, defined some parameters for each entry and packaged it all up in one neat Excel spreadsheet which, hopefully, I can later transform into some sort of…err…my sequel database? I don’t know, ask TheMan. I asked him if I organized the JSFR in an Excel database, could it be extracted into a usable format for a real DBase program and if so, what do I need to do to it? He went all technoblable on me and my brain went right the hell offline so I can’t really say what wonders he has in mind for the Official JSFR DBase madness. Suffice to say, everything’s all snug in an Excel worksheet and ready to have whatever done to it, done to it. Soon, you will be able to browse the JSFR by candy, rating, date rated, general SF type and specific SF type. I bet you are just quivering with anticipation no?
Next thing you know, I’ll have the directions for the origami frog done. Heh!
Speaking of weird and food, is it normal for cats to go bazoo over mint chocolate chip ice cream? Isaak is ALL about licking the bowl when I’m done. Maybe it tastes like cat mint? Who knows.
Alright, that’s all for me. I’ve got to finish my project and do a little more taste testing for this weekend’s JSF. See you on the flip side!
Last year at the booniverse: Bitch kept grabbing my best sleeping pillow, how was I supposed to catch a comfy 40 winks before the monsters came in and ate us?
Last last year at the booniverse: *yawn* Don’t bother, there’s nothing here.
