Tuesday Meme Stolen from Dirge
Since I usually don’t post on a Tuesday and since Dirge sent me this handy dandy meme in the mail, I thought I’d use it as some lagging Tuesday material. Hey, when a gift horse arrives via the post… Anyway, here are the questions and my answers. Enjoi!
1. What time did you get up this morning?
5:00 am. What, am I crazy? I’ve been getting up at 5 for the past couple of days, trying to get myself used to getting up that early so I can go work out. Yup, I am crazy.
2. Diamonds or pearls?
Actually, neither. I like a little color in my jewelry…topaz, ruby, garnet (I like the deep red garnet color a lot), sapphire, emerald, the majors. If I had to choose between diamonds and pearls, I’d go with pearls I suppose but they would have to be black salt water pearls (do freshwater pearls come in black?).
3. What was the last movie you saw?
In the theater? That would be Narnia. Man, I have to read those books again just to see how true the movie was. It’s been a long time since I’ve perused the Lion and co. If we are talking movies in general, TheMan and I popped in Big Trouble in Little China a couple of weeks ago. You know what ol’ Jack Burton says…
4. What is your favorite TV show?
Hrmmmm! I suppose it’s a toss up between Stargate and Battlestar Galactica. Really, we only watch Stargate, Atlantis and Battlestar these days with a random Law & Order (original and SVU, occasionally CI if Chris Noth is going to be the lead) thrown in there. We are a sad TV watching household. If I can pick my favoritest series ever, I might go with…Millennium maybe or Babylon 5. Some tight writing in Babylon 5 and Millennium is just good old fashioned creepy good. Like X-files without the light fluffy.
5. What did you have for breakfast?
Errrrr…honey nut cheerios I think. Gimmie a break, it was a long time ago! Heh.
6. What is your middle name?
Boo-terific! Or how about Ni. You know, Boo Ni Verse? Heh. You aint gettin it. Deal.
7.What is your favorite cuisine?
At the moment, I could really go for some Chinese food of American persuasion. Mmmm, general Tso’s. Double Mmmmm garlic ginger chicken and extra double bonus points for chop sticks! Of course sushi might be tasty too and still with the chop sticks. I’d even be happy with a bowl of Bi Bim Bop (and still with the chop sticks). Let’s go with Asian…that should cover just about everything that would be tasty to my person at the moment. When I’m not about the chop sticks, Mexican or Italian are good choices.
.8. What food do you dislike?
I’m not so fond of Kim Chi and a lot of Indian food is really hit or miss with me. Some of it is good (like that brilliantly pink chicken or the garbonzo bean dish) some of it I don’t ever want to look at again. The individual food vote would be for Sea Urchin. It’s like eating snot but not as tasty.
9. What is your favorite chip flavor?
Butterscotch! Heh. OK, going with chippy chips, I’d have to say Tostito’s Hint of Crack for the most part. Although this past munchie run I was all about the Doritoes guacamole chips, which I couldn’t find anywhere at Meijers. Damn super bowl freaks buying up all my guacamole chips. That also explains why there is still a shy half bag of Hint of Crack left. I was really more in the mood for guacamole chips. See? It’s all about what I want to eat at the moment. Hence the multiple entries for what should be simple questions.
10. What is your favorite CD at the moment?
How weird! Yesterday I wanted to listen to Death Cab for Cutie (errr…their newest one) so I fired up the 5 disc CD changer (which is older than the sun yet plays like it was brand new. Sony is my hero!) and slapped it in whilst I was puttering around the kitchen dealing with my turkey jell-o. I think I listened to the whole album once through before deciding to throw in a couple old favorites to pass the time. After listening to Steve Winwood’s Back in the High Life and U2’s Unforgettable Fire I got to thinking about what discs are my favorites. I can’t say I’d pick Death Cab for Cutie, although there are songs I like on there and High Life is good for one listen through before the nostalgia wore mighty thin but U2 and Erasure’s Pop had the staying power (I threw in Erasure when I got tired of the U2 mellow). At this very moment, I’d go with Erasure because it makes me think of my crazy, carefree college days. And gay men. I can’t help it if my two good (and gay) friends beeboped to these tunes all the damn time, can I?
11. What kind of car do you drive?
For our sanity and to keep our bank account from crying, we mostly tool the VW bug about. However, we do have a Ford F150 for when we need to tote stuff hither and thither.
12. Favorite sandwich?
I have a soft spot in my heart for Monte Cristo sandwiches but I don’t think my arteries could handle a regular diet of them, say like more than 1 every five years or so. Heh. Grilled cheese with tomato soup is always tasty, provided I didn’t make the grilled cheese. I have no patience and all my grilled cheeses come out more blackened cheeses. I also don’t much like restaurant grilled cheeses so that would be a home sandwich. If I’m eating out, then it’s turkey Reuben all the way. It’s even better if they can make it like the real Reuben with the 1K island dressing and kraut. Sometimes, I miss eating beef.
13. What characteristic do you despise?
Ass kissing.
14. What is your favorite flower?
Yeah, I have two. I love crocus because they are the happy harbingers of spring. Either that or they get frozen solid when the late snow hits. Either way, they amuse me to no end when they come a poking up in early spring through the snow and whatnot. Plus, they are so tiny! AND! Guess what! I finally planted some damned bulbs (crocus!) so I should be seeing their little crocusy heads poking up out of the snow pretty soon I would think. What, give them a month maybe? Sadly, crocus don’t smell like much so my second favorite flowers are lilacs. I love a big ol’ lilac tree in full bloom. Pretty and the smell is pungently pleasant.
15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
Ooooo! I wanna go to Australia. Or at least I did before I saw the special on those crawly bitey super poisonous spiders. Hrrrrm! I think I still want to go down under though. If I spoke better (or any) Japanese, I’d totally pick Japan but I don’t so Australia it is. Can you take a can of Raid overseas with you?
16. What color is your bathroom?
Wood paneled and something. Light bluish? Greenish? Whatever it is, it needs to be redone. OH! Unless you are talking about the (still!) unfinished downstairs bathroom. What color is cement board?
17. Favorite brands of clothing?
Bwahahaha! Yea, I am the clothes snob…only the best for me. Whatever that is. I’ll change this up slightly to style, where in I can answer “Hawaiian Shirts!” with resounding glee.
18. What was your most memorable birthday?
My 32nd birthday was a combination housewarming/birthday party which was really rather quite fun. We were having a housewarming party on Friday and when midnight rolled around then it became my birthday party. I got a kick out of that.
19. Where were you born?
Seattle, Washington. I still function on west coast time too.
20. Favorite sport to watch?
I dislike sports in general, although it’s kinda fun to catch a college game in person. Lots of stuff happens in and around the stadium that I can have a look see when I get bored. I get bored a lot. I’ll watch a bit of hockey if the Red Wings are playing and I flip past the game on the tube, or if it’s on at a sports bar or whatever but I’ve never really gone out of my way to set aside time to “watch the game”. I haven’t even caught the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, or Preakness Stakes in five years or so and I used to be right on top of those races. Horse racing is the bomb, it’s fast, there is some potential for danger and it’s over in 2 minutes. Score! Maybe that’s why I don’t mind hockey in terms of sports; it’s fast and angry.
21. What fabric detergent do you use?
Whatever’s on sale, babE!
22. Coke or Pepsi?
Either or. Right now I’m a diet Pepsi drinker because my significant husband is a diet Pepsi drinker. In my former relationship, my bastard boyfriend was a diet Coke drinker so I drank diet Coke. Really? I don’t care. I can’t tell the difference between them anyway (I’d so totally fail the blind taste testing). I will only settle for regular Coke for rum and Cokes, however. I think it’s psychological.
23. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Morning? That’s a swear word in my vocabulary. I’ve even taught my cats to walk softly until I’m absolutely for certain unmistakably awake.
24. What is your shoe size?
10.5 mens. I mostly wear men’s shoes because they don’t make a lot of shoes for a size 12 chick. At least not many that don’t look right at home on a cross dresser.
25. Any Pets?
Two crazy cats. They will be 11 this year. That’s ridiculous, that’s not even funny.
26. Any words of wisdom you’d like to share?
Always…no. Never…errr, no wait. Always check your references.
27. What did you want to be when you were little?
Heh, this sounds like a reverse time aging question. Shouldn’t it be what did you want to be when you grew up? Anyway, I wanted to be a fireman! Or a doctor, or a vet.
28. What are you doing today?
Answering this meme…duhhhh! After that, I might make some cheese lasagna and listen to my new CD (another Death Cab for Cutie. Supposedly this is the Flood of Death Cab. We shall see). I should probably work out.
29. What state do you live in?
Denial! Or Michigan. Take your pick.
30. What did you dream about last night?
I don’t remember anything except it was a sort of rendered thing, like World of Warcraft but there was a cut out java thing bouncing about. Too much numa numa videos!
31. What did you do last weekend?
Not a whole lot, although I did banish the Horde, again (damn Horde) and I got all the laundry squared away. Plus, I dealt with the soup stock that had gone all Jell-o on me. Frekky, but reversible with a little heat.
32. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully a mother. Come on baby q!
33. What are you doing tonight?
Wait, didn’t I answer this back there somewhere?
34. They say that if you were a “stripper”, your name would be your pet’s name (or if you don’t have one, one you have previously had or one that is owned by a family member) and your street name.
Well, Isaak Prospect or Vande Prospect. Take your pick.
Last year at the booniverse: And that’s about as easy as it gets with Isaak. We don’t have any bath time pics because it took two of us to wash him.
Last last year at the booniverse: Gearing up to wash the cats. Maybe. Later.
The year before at the booniverse: Will we have to then pick out a spork pattern for our registry?
