I started mucking about with this &#8216;blogging&#8217; thing back in 2002, partially as a place to practice my writing, and partially just to see if I could get an installation of Movable Type up and running.  It&#8217;s sort of taken on a life of its own since then.<\/p>\n<p>The Quirkblog was updated to an install of WordPress in late 2006 in the hopes that more modern programming techniques would quell the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/quirkblog\/index.php\/?p=625\" target=\"_blank\">overwhelming flood<\/a> of comment and trackback spam that had crippled the system back in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>So far, so good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m a computer geek, bad movie fanatic, webcomic author and graphic artist based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
