{"id":1266,"date":"2002-11-27T12:29:49","date_gmt":"2002-11-27T17:29:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/quirkblog\/?p=11"},"modified":"2002-11-27T12:29:49","modified_gmt":"2002-11-27T17:29:49","slug":"anonymity-and-privacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/quirkblog\/?p=1266","title":{"rendered":"Anonymity and privacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was about to write up a quick note on an amusing event from last night when a question hit me: How much personal information do I want to give away here, anyway?<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nI mean, it&#8217;s not like I expect to have rabid fans of this tiny blog seeking me out and pestering me for autographs.  And it&#8217;d be easier to be able to refer to people and places by their proper names and not have to remember a slew of clever pseudonyms and nicknames&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, I was on the air for a while on a local, <a href=\"http:\/\/wcbn.org\/\">student-run radio station<\/a>, and I know there are people out there who will obsess about anything.  I mean, I had a 3am &#8211; 6am show for a while and even with that schedule I had a couple of borderline stalking incidents&#8230;  One of them turned out to be another DJ at the station who had a graveyard shift job and who would call frequently just because she really liked listening to my show at work.  Nothing sinister there, but there were other frequent callers&#8230;  And some of the female DJ&#8217;s had to deal with some real creeps.<\/p>\n<p>So, until I get a good idea about who&#8217;s out there reading (yes, all six of you!)
