I&#8217;m starting the morning off restoring files from backup tape.  It could be worse though&#8230; We could be without a backup system at all.<\/p>\n<p>Which actually reminds me of a kind of bizarre story&#8230;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nA friend of ours was complaining about the apartment complex that he used to live in.  Seems the neighbor kids were listening to a rap song, played loudly and accompanied by cries of &#8220;Whoop! Whoop!&#8221; at rhythmically appropriate intervals.  The lyrics were apparently a brief essay about how &#8220;Momma has a big ol&#8217; butt!&#8221; and how she should &#8220;Back it up, back it on up!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I pointed out that the song was just offering some sound advice for anyone working in information technology&#8230;  After all, if she <b>hadn&#8217;t<\/b> backed it up, she could be in serious trouble if there were a power outage or a media failure.  And for added security, she should try for an offsite backup.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;d be a shame to lose a big ol&#8217; butt, especially if it was something worth shouting &#8220;Whoop!
