I tend to cycle between being in and out of shape over the course of a couple of years, and I&#8217;m afraid I&#8217;m on the low swing of a cycle right now.  I need to fix that before the wedding, and keep it fixed once the wedding is over.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve got enough space clear that we can use bowflex in my basement, so last night I tried to get back into the exercise routine that I&#8217;d had going a year or two ago.  I bumped the weight down about 10 pounds from my old comfort level, anticipating that it might be a bit of a strain.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m beginning to think that I should have knocked it down by 15 or 20.  My arms are like rubber, and I feel like I&#8217;ve been kicked in the chest.  I was sweating buckets by the time I got through the routine, and I&#8217;d probably have had some dehydration problems if it weren&#8217;t for the half-gatorade, half-water drink I&#8217;d had before I started.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got a day to recover before I do it all again.  Joy.  It helps for me to keep repeating to myself &#8220;When I&#8217;m wearing a tuxedo, I mustn&#8217;t look like a penguin!&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve got to get back in the habit of working out on a regular basis.
