I was only ever in the building twice, &#8216;way back during my tenure as a student employee and semi-professional computer geek.  The impression I took away from the place was awkwardness.  It was built in the late 1930&#8217;s, in the days before ergonomics or handicap accessibility.  Getting a cartload of computers from floor to floor was an adventure, especially since the only elevator was the little dumbwaiter.<\/p>\n<p>There are more demolition pictures in the extended entry&#8230;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CFOB-Dismantling.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/archives\/images\/CFOB-Dismantling.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nI&#8217;m pretty sure that the guy with the hose is there to keep the dust down&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CFOB-Chomper.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/archives\/images\/CFOB-Chomper.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nThis gizmo was the most impressive bit of equipment on the site.  It looked like a mechanical Tyrannosaurus was literally chewing the building apart&#8230;  The water from the hoses looked like drool.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CFOB-DoomedIvy.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/archives\/images\/CFOB-DoomedIvy.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nThe north side of the building was still intact when I took these pictures.  You could see some of the old paneling around the windows and the walls were covered with doomed ivy.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CFOB-RaggedLeft.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/archives\/images\/CFOB-RaggedLeft.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s been raining on and off all day, usually whenever I need to walk somewhere.
