My fiancee and I popped over to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arborbrewing.com\/\">brewpub<\/a> near the Dojo for dinner last night and discovered that their excellent three bean vegetarian chili is off the menu&#8230;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThis may seem like a kind of minor thing to be complaining about, but that was some <b>good<\/b> chili!  It had just the right combination of sauce and spice, just enough heat to be spicy without overwhelming the rest of the flavor.<\/p>\n<p>I feel like I&#8217;m writing a eulogy or something.  &#8220;It was a good meal, taken from us before its time.  It will be sorely missed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, it <b>will<\/b> be missed.  By me at least.  It was a great alternative to the standard pub fare of shepard&#8217;s pie, fish and chips, bratwurst and similarly hefty foods.  It&#8217;s not like they don&#8217;t have other vegetarian foods there, but they&#8217;re more the sort of thing that I could do at home.  Black bean burritos aren&#8217;t exactly rocket science, and I&#8217;ve got a couple of garden burgers in the freezer for quick meals when needed.  Sure, I could make chili too, but there&#8217;s usually a huge investment of time for it to simmer down and flavor itself well.  And that&#8217;s probably why it&#8217;s off the menu there.  It&#8217;s just too much hassle&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Pity.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still going to write them a letter and ask them to reconsider.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m vaguely depressed, or at least mildly distressed, from last night&#8217;s dinner.
