In some ways this would be very cool.  My folks visited New Zealand a while ago and had a great time, and it sounds like a place that I&#8217;d enjoy a lot.  But if he moves there, it could put a crimp in one of my Nefarious Schemes.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nA long time ago, I read a mystery book by Dorothy Sayers called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/006104363X\/103-0965950-8495015?v=glance\">The Five Red Herrings<\/a>.  Hopefully I&#8217;m not giving away too much of the plot when I mention that someone vanishes mysteriously simply by getting a shave and moving to another town where nobody knows that he used to have a beard.  Having read that, it dawned on me that if <b>I<\/b> got a shave and a haircut there&#8217;d be vanishingly small number of people who&#8217;d recognize me if they bumped into me on the street.  Combine that with a change in wardrobe and the disguise improves vastly.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to another country would complete the disguise and eliminate the chance of being accidentally unmasked.  Of course, it&#8217;d help to move to somewhere that I speak the language, so the list of destinations was rather small.  Unfortunately, the guy who&#8217;s talking New Zealand is one of the few people who&#8217;s seen me shaved and shorn&#8230; So if he makes the move, that&#8217;s one really good country off of my expatriate list.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like I&#8217;d have to settle for Bermuda.<\/p>\n<p>Ah well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A friend of mine is thinking semi-seriously about moving to New Zealand.
