The car’s all packed, the show is on disc and as of 5pm I’ll be on vacation! I’ll probably be posting here more frequently than before. After all, it’d be tough to post LESS often… Plus I’ll be away from the distractions and difficulties of work. I was just thinking about it, and this will be the longest non-holiday related vacation that I’ve been on in fourteen years.<\/p>\n
I’m a bit hazy on the numbers for that claim. It’s not exactly fuzzy math, more along the lines of poor memory. I can’t recall if I had a summer job my freshman year of college, or if that started sophomore year. I know I took summer classes every subsequent year, so those don’t count.

\nI’m looking forward to the break. We’ve got two big trips planned: first down to Columbus for the Smithee Awards at Origins, then off to the big Alaskan Honeymoon Cruise. Very fun stuff. There will be pictures from both excursions.<\/p>\n
A lot of people asked why we didn’t go on our honeymoon right after we got married, but there’s a certain amount of incompatibility between the concepts of November and Alaska… I like cold weather. I’ve got no problem with really, really bitter cold, provided that there’s someplace warm for me to go to or to be in afterwards. Unfortunately, a lot of Alaska just kind of closes up for the winter starting in October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
