{"id":1793,"date":"2004-07-30T19:38:08","date_gmt":"2004-07-31T00:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/quirkblog\/?p=538"},"modified":"2004-07-30T19:38:08","modified_gmt":"2004-07-31T00:38:08","slug":"webcast-day-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/quirkblog\/?p=1793","title":{"rendered":"Webcast Day 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day three of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transweb.com\/webcast\/usa2004\/\">Transweb Webcast<\/a> and it&#8217;s official &#8211; the University of Minnesota campus beats five kinds of good for the roses out of Disney&#8217;s Wide World of Sports complex.  Not to dis the Diz, but having the webcast headquarters in the hotel, along with having half a dozen really good restaurants within a half block radius <b>and<\/b> not having any restrictions against having food in the HQ office means that we&#8217;ve got much happier webcasters than before.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nPlus it&#8217;s nice out.  Mostly.  Oh sure, we had half an hour of torrential rains in the middle of the track and field event, but we haven&#8217;t had temperatures in the high 90&#8217;s with 100% humidity and daily thunderstorms that you can set your watch by.<\/p>\n<p>The only thing that the photogs have had to complain about has been the low light levels at some of the events.  We&#8217;ve been getting some grainy pictures even with the really good cameras we&#8217;ve been loaned.<\/p>\n<p>More stories are up on the site now, and the Transplant Games had a nice color spread above the fold in section B of the local paper, as well as a nice article in their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/stories\/468\/4901051.html\">online edition<\/a>.  We&#8217;ve also had a lot of good feedback, both in person and via e-mail about the site.
