I guess it was a rough year for the folks at Wasem Fruit Farm<\/a>. An early thaw followed by frost didn’t do great things for either the apple or the plum crops. My Wife headed over this morning and discovered that they had harvested only a single bushel of plums from the whole orchard. So no plum wine for us today… I’ve posted the basic apple wine recipie<\/a> before… It hasn’t changed much, apart from the fact that we’re doing a 6 gallon carboy instead of 5 this time (increase stuff proportionally). \nInstead we did apple. Making apple wine from cider is incredibly freekin’ easy. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in a low-difficulty, good tasting starter wine. We’re experimenting a bit with this batch. Instead of using ordinary sugar, we’re trying brown sugar to see what that does to the flavor.<\/p>\n
