The first lets you stream the contents of your iTunes library, the second lets you remotely control an iTunes jukebox on a remote machine.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWe&#8217;re looking at putting together a fairly simple jukebox setup at work where people can queue up songs on a small mac and have them play through the big stereo system.  So far, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadendsw.com\/\">webRemote<\/a> from Dead End Software seems to do the trick.  It&#8217;s got a few flaws that need fixing (for example: you can add stuff to the queue playlist, but the web interface doesn&#8217;t show what&#8217;s been added) but for $10 shareware, it&#8217;s pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>The streaming software is cool hack from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slimdevices.com\/\">Slim Devices<\/a>.  It&#8217;s intended to let you remotely control and configure a hardware mp3 player that they make, but it can be re-tasked to function as a streaming server on its own.<\/p>\n<p>Some deep part of my geekbrain is contemplating some way of combining the two into an automated streaming &#8216;Requests Only&#8217; web-based radio station&#8230;  I&#8217;ll let y&#8217;all know if anything like that breaks the surface.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Found two handy work related \/ fun utilities recently.
