It was hanging out in the shrubbery by the driveway and was patient enough to wait for me to head into the house, drop off groceries, and come back out with the camera.  It even sat through a half-dozen or so flashes while I jockeyed for the best angle.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I&#8217;ve got some friends that I know are rather arachnophobic, so I&#8217;m putting this image after the break.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.quirkspace.com\/archives\/images\/BigEffingSpider.jpg\" alt=\"BigEffingSpider.jpg\" border=\"0\" height=\"300\" width=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In case you need an idea of the scale, the Boxelder bug is about half an inch long.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got a lovely shot of a huge spider munching happily on one of those red-striped Boxelder bugs.
