Typical Typo

From an e-mail alert today:

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Washtenaw County in SE Michigan until 3:45 p.m. The NWS Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to one inch diameter hair and damaging winds up to 60 mph. The storm is expected to be near Ann Arbor by 3:10 p.m.

That’s some big hair.

Looking for Lunch in All The Wrong Places

Friday night, there’s this radio show hosted by some aging rocker – I think it may be Alice Cooper – who was talking about how bored they got in the tour bus when driving through Ohio. One of the games they’d play was taking songs with “Love” in the title, and substituting in the word “Lunch.”

I’ve driven through Ohio twice recently, on the way back and forth to the Transplant Games. And I’m going to do it again soon, on the way back and forth to Origins for the Smithees show.

Best quote of the day (so far)

From the This Is True newsletter.

Tomorrow (as I write this), it’ll be 6 June 2006, which some have been shorthanding as 6/6/6 (except of course in Europe, where they put the dates in different order, in which case it’ll instead read 6/6/6).

*shrug*

I don’t know why the error message says, “Microsoft Word Has Unexpectedly Quit.”

I mean… It’s a Microsoft product. There’s always the expectation that it’s going to quit.

The More Things Change

I had occasion to look up some fairly simple, but extremely important, information over the weekend. Basically, I thought it would be a good idea to double-check the correct way to add an outlet to a household circuit before actually performing said wiring task.

After the first half dozen it’s kind of a blur

We’re hitting another poster crunch week here, but I’m not going to let that stop me from posting. Actually, I’m posting because I need a break from the deluge. Right now I’ve got seven posters at the proofing stage and six more ready to print. All but 3 of those came in during the course of the day today.

Long time no see

Well. It feels like I haven’t updated here for ages, and here it turns out that it’s only been 2/3 of a month. Still, that is forever in Internet Time, so I suppose I’d best get off my duff and get back to providing semi-regular updates.

So that I remember it

Just because we spent so long looking, I’m going to make a link to it here. It being miniature trash cans, and the link being to Factory Direct Craft Supplies where they are item 19133 in their online catalog.

Trust me, it’ll all make sense after Saturday.
