More Out-Geeking

Well, after a day’s study of CSS and PHP, I think I’ve come up with some really handy stuff for work. Using CSS for site-wide stylistic changes is pretty cool, but the biggest time saver is the use of the PHP include function for things like menu bars. That means that we only need to code something once and we can use it on dozens of pages… Take a look over at the remake of the ArsMagica Moderna pages for an example.

Dehydrated buildings

I had a strange idea recently based on two links that popped up in the past few days. One, from DECAFBAD’s latest batch of quick links, is about a robotic system that’s basically a gigantic plotter. The trick is, it uses concrete instead of ink to basically print a house from computerized plans. The other nifty thing (from an e-mail list I’m on) is a combination of concrete and optic fibers called “LiTraCon“, which is basically transparent concrete.

Ok, this isn’t exactly a Quiz, but it is a nifty online game. It’s called “Grow!” and it’s based out of Japan. It’s a lot of fun to just play with, but it’s also a logic puzzle.
