A guest comic by my Wife asks the age-old question, “What if we turned our Jack-O-Lantern carving duties over to an army of tiny glow-in-the-dark zombies?”
New Friday Comic is up, with my best theory on Car names.
Let’s say, just as an example here, that you do a lot of video work, including DVD authoring. Further, let’s say you have an old project that you need to use part of. And, sadly, the hard drive with the only backup of your original project has died with a horrible whining crunch.

And for those of you keeping count at home, we’ve moved on from flying robot poop jokes to quantum physics poop jokes.
Yow. It’s coming down in big honking flakes out there. I fear this means that there will be the standard multitude of morons driving home from work tonight.

A request from the mailbag:
…[M]y Mother used to have the record, “It Hurts to Be Hurt” [by Beulah Kershaw] – she would play it for my boys when they were growing up and they would roll in the floor howling with laughter.
Do you have it downloaded anywhere online? Mother has passed away, we no longer have the record, but I would love to surprise my now grown sons and let them hear it once again.
Yes. THAT Beulah.
So what about it, gentle readers? Anyone out there have the record? Willing to share the Beulah experience?
If so, let me know: quirkblog ? at ? gmail ? dot ? com

It was hanging out in the shrubbery by the driveway and was patient enough to wait for me to head into the house, drop off groceries, and come back out with the camera. It even sat through a half-dozen or so flashes while I jockeyed for the best angle.
Anyway, I’ve got some friends that I know are rather arachnophobic, so I’m putting this image after the break.

I don’t know if there’s been a reputable scientific study on this, but why do paper cuts hurt so much more than ordinary cuts? Is it something to do with the ragged edge of the paper compared to the smooth edge of an ordinary cutting implement? Or is it some left-over chemical from the paper making process?
