I can’t fully compare these two places. One of them is a sit down bar and restaurant, the other is a drive in.
For atmosphere and conviviality Pizza House wins hands down, but on the subject of food and drink it’s a much closer contest.
Pizza House has excellent appetizers, tasty pizzas and calzones, fine breadsticks, and great salads. It also serves beer, wine and other drinks. Unfortunately, the service can be very slow.
The Chick Inn serves more traditionally fast-food style drive in fare, all of it very good. A particular favorite of mine is the Scallop dinner. The service is quick, and you can either eat in your car or take you food home.
One thing they both do is shakes and malteds. They both offer combined flavors, and I’ve tried the chocolate/peanut butter malted from both places.
The Chick Inn wins on several points. It’s smooth enough to drink through a straw without suffering full cranial inversion. It tastes like a cool Reeses peanut butter cup and is considerably less expensive.
