Did a bunch of stupid “behind the scenes” work to redirect people here from my old site.

If this were a DVD, this entry would be the equivalent of a commentary track provided by the clapper loader. Useless technical information of interest only to total geeks.

Anyway, for a long time I’ve had most of my web stuff up on the umich Login servers. Now there’s not much point. Updating text here is a thousand times easier than hacking raw steaming chunks of HTML out of the ground with nothing but my bare hands and the pico editor on a unix terminal. It’s even easier to deal with the occasional photo (witness the paen to the pumpkin). For more intense photographic cataloging and the occasional video clip, I’ve got my .mac account. All I was lacking was a way of tying it all together.

Well, that’s taken care of now. My standard homepage now has big, easy to read links sending people here for random thoughts and elsewhere for my photo gallery. And that’s it.

See? I told you this was stupid “behind the scenes” stuff…
