Gate to Nowhere

They cut back the brush along one of the roads that I take in to work. In with all of the shattered twigs and ground up bits of wood was this strange fieldstone gate… It was sunny and bright, so I stopped to take a picture of it on Sunday afternoon. This is just the right side of it.

There’s no sign of a driveway going up to it, or any kind of road beyond it. I have no idea what it may have been an entrance to… There’s no ‘No Trespassing’ signs, but a gate kind of implies that on it’s own. Still, I’m tempted to check it out and see if there’s a whole fieldstone building covered in shrubbery back there.
