Not in the sense of “Hi food, how’ve you been?” More along the lines of food left over after a staff meeting.
I’ve ranted briefly about meeting food before, long ago. Yesterday morning there were bagels and cream cheese in the break room, leftovers from some six AM conference. This afternoon there was coleslaw.
No signs of any other food. Just a big bowl of chopped cabbage, carrots and other assorted veggies swimming in mayonnaise-based dressing. There it sat with a serving spoon sticking out at a jaunty angle.
I have no idea how long it’d been sitting there, so even if I were hungry I wasn’t about to eat any. Plus there wasn’t anything to serve it into, apart from the little plastic cups for the water cooler.
And you know that nothing’s more refreshing after a hard day’s work than a nice hearty glass of coleslaw.
