Somehow I expect violets to be a litte bit more… I dunno… Violet. These ones have a kind of ghostly look to them that makes me think that there’s something important missing from their diet.
Anyway, there are patches of these in the backyard along with the regular purple violets. I don’t know if it’s some kind of recessive color thing or what, and I’m not about to go all Gregor Mendel and start raising greenhouses full of the things.
Oh, and as a sort of backyard update, I don’t know if the mushrooms were morels or not, and it doesn’t matter at this point since some critter or another has come by and all of them have been either nibbled on or knocked down.
