Totally random thought… Would Elvis have been such a success if he had written haiku?

My shoes are blue suede
And you are just a hound-dog
Do not step on them.

Long live Las Vegas
My soul burns with the bright lights
And money departs

Party in the jail
The band plays much too loudly
Jailbirds sing, knocked out

My baby has left
So I must rent a new room
Down on Lonely Street

Christmas without you
Red and green, but mostly blue
The tree, and my heart

It’s now or never
Tomorrow will be too late
My love will not wait
