Hearts on Ice

Saturday was a big fundraiser / hockey game for the Cardiovascular center, and we were called in to videotape it. It was a lot of fun, especially with the penalties that were called… One player had a 2 minute penalty for “Being from Ohio” and a second 2 minute penalty for “Wearing silly looking pants.” I’ve got a goofy little movie that I did with the footage of the Zamboni… I’ll post it later. My Wife helped out, shooting still footage and crowd reaction shots with my camera. She did an excellent job, and quite a few of her shots are going to make it into the final production.

The only downside of the evening was when we were loading up the bug with all the equipment we’d brought. When we’d gone in to the arena, it was in the mid fifties and sunny. By the time the game was over it’d dropped into the low 30’s and it had started to snow. Wet, slushy, slap in the face snow. Big heavy wind-driven flakes that tried to burrow into your eyes and plug up your ears. Sunday morning looked bright and sunny, but heading out of the house revealed a layer of snow on the side porch and temperatures in the low 20’s. It’s still cold and breezy out there. That, along with the working on the weekend and losing sleep to a vicious combination of cats and Daylight Savings has put me in a foul Monday Mood…
