Confusion reigns…

Did you ever have one of those moments when you’ve got a plan so clearly pictured in your mind that you don’t know if you’ve done it or not? I’m worrying today that I may have had one of those moments last night. I’d had a nice clear plan in my mind when I got home from work: i.e. get the air conditioner out of the basement and into the window, grill dinner outside (so as not to heat up the house), work out, and then call my mom and wish her a happy birthday.

The thing is, there was a minor interruption in all of this. When I went downstairs to work out, I decided to check on the wine cellar to see if any of the water locks needed topping off. There was also some (as it turns out, perfectly justified) worry about the blueberry wine… It seems to have started working again. And given that it’s been bottled and corked, this is a Bad Thing.

So, before working out, I moved all the bottles from the cellar to the sink in the basement and submerged them in cold water in the hopes that this would calm them down enough for safe disposal. I made a mental note to add the warning about the wine when I called my folks, since they had two bottles of it Up North, then did a quick workout.

Afterwards, I headed upstairs, called my mom and chatted for a bit. I know I warned her about the wine, and she let me know that my grandma was back in the hospital fighting pneumonia, but I can’t for the life of me remember if I even mentioned her birthday! It’s been bugging me all morning…
