Waxbath

Ellie brought a wax bath with her. It’s one of those standard things where you dip your hands into liquid wax and let it warm your hands as it hardens into a rose scented waxy glove. I know lots of folks who have these, and I’m sure it’s therapeutic, but to me the big point is that it’s a lot of fun.

My Wife and I actually got a wax bath thing from a friend of ours. It’s at home, and we’ve just never set it up. That’ll probably change after this trip. Playing with melted wax was something I always did as a little kid, and it isn’t any less fun now that I’m an adult.

At Christmastime, one of the highlights was the candlelight service at my Grandma’s church. And to me the second best part was when everyone got to light the little candles and they’d dim the lights while we all sang “Silent Night”. The best part was playing with the melted wax that dripped off the candle while everyone was singing.

My only little bit of trepidation is that the combination of liquid wax and shedding cats could get kind of disgusting if we’re not careful.
