Do you remember the 7up guy? Big Jamaican guy, dressed in white. He’d go on about how 7up was “Crisp and clean, with no caffeine.” And how it “Never had it, never will!”
That was because of the zombies, of course.
When you think of Jamaica, the two things that spring to mind are Zombies and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Very few people realize how closely those two are linked.
Zombies stagger around looking for brains to eat. Specifically, they’re looking for brains with a high caffeine content! The less caffeine you have in your brain, the less likely you are to be targeted by a brain-hungry zombie.
Oh, it was all code, obviously. I mean, you can’t just come right out and say, “Drink our beverage or zombies will eat your brain.” But the connection was there. That’s why the spokesman for 7up had to have a Jamaican accent.
