Oh hey! I’ve not been updating this terribly well, have I?
Mostly that’s due to work. We had a bit of a reorganization and I’ve been moved squarely into the production office. It’s a little disappointing in some ways – my degree and training lend themselves more to the video aspects of the office – but kind of a complement in others, in that I can produce poster layouts roughly twice as fast as anyone else in our office.
I’ll miss working at the other location though. It was an easy walk to have lunch with my Wife, parking was far less of a hassle and there were food choices other than Wendy’s or the Cafeteria within easy walking distance.
And I had drawers.
You don’t really think about it until they’re gone, but the one thing your office should absolutely have is someplace to store things. Back in the other location, I had a big honking file cabinet with plenty of room for odd cables, hanging folders, blank media and coffee mugs. Now? Nothing. I don’t even have a desk drawer. Stuff I don’t use often is shoved into a cardboard box and tucked under my desk where I keep accidentally kicking it.
Very annoying.
