Changes

The latest novel in the Harry Dresden series, “Changes” does exactly what it says on the cover. It changes everything.

Well, maybe not everything – Harry is still a smartass who doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. He’s still got a fun blend of cynicism and idealism prodding him to try to change the world for the better, even though he knows no one will appreciate it. And he’s still in a whole lot of trouble.

I’m not going to post any spoilers here, so it’s going to be a short review. There’s one thing which was sort of poking at my mind as I was reading it, which means I’m going to have to re-read the book to see if I’m imagining it, or if it’s really there: there’s a sort of Tarot card feeling to some of the scenes; parts of it seem to reflect the traditional images on the cards – starting with the burning, falling Tower, which is never a good sign.
