Here comes the Science!

Looks like some guy with a science based toyshop has replicated my old Mentos experiment.

Minor Saga of Triumph and Failure

So. According to the date at the bottom of this entry, I’ve already missed a day of updating and therefore have disgraced the name of the December Challenge. On the other hand, according to my Wife, it doesn’t count as a day until you’ve actually gone to sleep. And since she made up the rules for the good ol’ DC, I’m still in the running.

Go me.

Glow Cup

Why does no one make a self-illuminated coffee cup? Seriously. In all of the world of novelty drink containers, this one seems to be a no-brainer. You could use it to find your way through a darkened break room to a steamy carafe of fresh java. On dark winter mornings, you could carry it with you out to your car to illuminate your search for your keys. Hold it aloft, like Diogenes, in search of an honest shade-grown free-trade cup of joe.

Backlog!

Wow. Not much posting going on here… I’d had a half a piece written last week that I’d saved as a draft and I guess I just kinda left things hanging around. Sorry ’bout that. I’ll be popping things over from Draft to Publish later today, so look for at least three new entries showing up as if they were old entries.

Fun Fun Fun…

The Bug flat out died on us last night. We were all packed up and getting ready to head over to my sister’s place for dinner and Stargate and when I turned the key in the ignition the whole car went dead. No warning. We went from glowing interior lights and happy dashboard to absolute darkness in an instant.

Video seriously wounded the Radio Star

Ok, so far there’s just the one Poems by Beulah up there, but I’ve been busy with work… The final touches are complete on both the booster seat video and the hockey game video, and I’ll post links to them here as soon as they go live.

Great feeling

You know what feels really good? Not having a tooth wobbling loose in the front of your mouth.

I’ve had some dental trauma in my life. One tooth was knocked out during a backyard hockey game in my early teens. A year or two later, another was yanked out by a clothesline while falling off of a friend’s porch roof. And yes, the porch belonged to the same friend whose hockey stick had taken out the first tooth. Then about twelve years ago a bike accident broke off both of the previously damaged teeth along with a third, previously uninvolved tooth. I wound up getting all three of them capped at the U of M Dental School.

And on Saturday, I noticed that one of the capped teeth felt a bit flexible.

Request lines are closed

Despite many requests, I am not going to do a podcast of this guy’s stories. Bad poetry is one thing. Roy Orbison cling-film fan-fiction porn is another. I’ve got to draw the line somewhere.

Ballad Of Shub-Niggurath

This popped into my head whilst mowing the lawn over the weekend… No idea why. It’s fairly seasonal tho.

Creatures of habit.

So I’ve probably just ruined the day of a couple dozen angsty teens.

Let me explain.

I was going through the server logs and noticed a whole bunch of bandwidth was being used by one of my old images. It seems a lot of people were linking to it directly, using it as a background for their own web pages.

So I changed things a bit…
