In part from a forthcoming JSFR:

This is not a case of “something the cat dragged in.” This bird actually few in on its own last night. I’d opened the door to check the mail and suddenly there’s this strange flapping and what felt like the biggest moth in the world fluttering up against my face. Then this guy zipped right past me, through the front door and around the living room before perching on a picture frame. Startled the hell out of me.
The song connection didn’t pop into my head until this morning, and it’s given me a case of the giggles all day.
“Why do birds… suddenly app AHHH!!! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF MY FACE!!!! AAAHHHHHHH!!!”

This week’s new comic is an important announcement for the people of Southern California, especially San Fransisco and Los Angeles.
This week’s new comic can strike with impunity from an entrenched defensive position.
I’ve added a new page to the webcomic site: a quick catalog of the various goofy merchandise I’ve done as comic tie-ins. Nothing earthshakingly original, just a handy way to see all the stuff at one go.
No, seriously. On the drive from Conbust to the airport we shared a van with Jennie Breedon and got talking about various bizarrenesses that we’ve been watching recently. Turns out, she’s an occasional fan of the BBC show “Top Gear.” We spotted that it was on the TV this evening and got hooked ourselves. Where else can you see a guy in a high-end sports car racing across the marshes of southern England against someone on foot – and LOSING? Or a group of touring car racers taking their RVs out on the track instead?
Seriously, it’s the funniest car show on TV. Go watch it if you get a chance.

So, I’m writing thanks to the wireless network here at the Bradley International Airport. We just got done with a lovely little Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Gaming convention at Smith College – our second year there, hopefully of many more. We’ve commenced the long journey back home, flying for an hour or two, then sitting in another airport for a couple of hours before flying for a few hours more.

This week’s new comic describes a rare weather phenomenon.
Just for fun, I’ve set up a new cafĂ© press shop featuring merchandise from last Friday’s comic.
