I’m starting to get sick of using the iTools interface for my online photo gallery…
The iTools homepage stuff is kinda cool in a lot of ways, but it’s designed for the basic user who is willing to sacrifice total obsessive-compulsive control over the output in favor of ease of use.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against ease of use. If I did, I wouldn’t be using a Mac right now. On the other hand, I’d like to be able to quickly add a handfull of photos to an existing gallery without it spazzing out. Failing that, I’d like to be able to hand-edit the code when I want to without the iTools manager pitching a fit about it all.
At any rate, I added a couple of the photos from here to my gallery and modified that whole site a bit. It took a lot longer than I wanted it to, but everything looks the way I want and all of the files are named the way I want them to be named.
And the next time I want to add more pictures, I think I’ll just create a new gallery for them instead of trying to shoehorn them into an existing one.
