Leaf veins

There had been this shiny jewel-like bug on the bottom of this leaf. It flew off just as I was taking its picture, but the veins in the leaf itself look really cool up close…

On a semi-related photography note, I ran into a bizarre article in Wired about a guy who has converted an old postal truck into a giant camera. He’s stuck a lens in one part of it, blocked any light leaks, and slapped a huge sheet of photographic paper on the wall opposite the lens. Apparently, he can make a 4 foot by 8 foot negative.

The strange thing is that on the drive in this morning I’d been talking with my Fiancee about some of my plans for my old Honda Civic. If I hadn’t been able to sell it, I was planning on converting it into an art car. I was going to put a planter in the trunk, maybe cut the roof so that I could fit turf into it. But I would never have thought of turning the whole car into a camera.
