I’m officially back on the exercise bandwagon again. I did a fairly hefty workout last night, to the point where I was having difficulty lifting my arms to adjust the shower afterwards. I woke up feeling a bit stiff this morning, but I’m barely even sore now. I think that’s a good sign. At the very least, it’ll encourage me to keep up the effort.
I may not be in as poor shape as I thought I was. I’m still heavier than I want to be, but my muscles haven’t totally atrophied or anything. I think part of the credit has to go to the wine. Not drinking it so much as making it. A five gallon carboy of wine weighs about 40 – 45 pounds, and I’ve been hauling that stuff up and down stairs, from the kitchen sink to the counter, from the counter to the floor… I could do an exercise video! “Wine your way to fitness!” or something.
Actually, I wouldn’t recommend juggling carboys for fun or fitness. At least not the big glass ones. On the other hand, the secretaries at work tend to fetch me when the big plastic carboy on the water cooler needs changing, and one of those could be a good bit of workout equipment. All I’d need is a bamboo framework, some cocoanut pulleys, and some vines and I could make a Gilligan’s Island style exercise machine.
I’m just full of bad ideas today.
