Had a horrifying tuxedo experience on Sunday. My dad was in town so we hit the tux shoppe to get our measurements taken for the wedding outfits. It’s kind of odd how old it made me feel. It was sobering for me to realize that not only am I now taller than my dad, I’ve got broader shoulders and chest. And a phenomenally larger waist.
Fortunately, the waist measurement has to be some kind of mistake… Fortunate apart from the fact that I’m going to have to go back and get re-measured. I mean, what she wrote down was a good eight inches larger than the pants I was wearing at the time, and it wasn’t because they’ve stretched. We went clothes shopping last night and I got some comfortably loose pants that are my usual size…
Not that I’m particularly happy with that size.
Anyway, we’ve stepped up the diet and exercise regime. We went through the exercise book that came with the Bowflex and started following the guidelines there, including the instructions on superhydration… That means drinking at least a gallon of cold water every day.
That’s a LOT of water. I brought a 64 oz. water bottle in to work yesterday and started working on it in slow increments through the day. By noon I felt like a human water balloon… I’m going to try pacing myself a bit differently today, drinking 8 oz. every hour. Hopefully I won’t have the same kind of floating bloat feeling.
One response to “I’m sick of water…”
