It’s amazing the damage that someone can do with photoshop. With just a few mouse clicks, I’ve removed dozens of safety features from a helicopter landing pad. They’re very important things too, like landing lights and automatic fire suppression nozzles near the refueling area, but they just look awkward cluttering up the background like that.
I’ve got a poster in where the client has given me carte blanche on artistic expression, so I suppose I should be glad of the chance to experiment a bit. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do much. There’s just too many other projects going on in the office. I’m going to be taking a vacation day tomorrow in the hopes that it’ll keep my brain from exploding.
I’ve already got a list of things to do while I’m out, ranging from shipping off a set of shelves to calling the caterer with a revised guest list estimate… And if it’s nice out I may even get some yard work done.
It’s amazing how scatterbrained I am right now. Wedding and work stress are combining into a strange elemental stress-sludge that’s wobbling around in my brain box. I can’t seem to get one job done before someone comes and interrupts me with a new thing to do…
On the other hand, when I do finish up with a job, there’s a visceral thrill to slamming the “Complete” stamp down on to the client envelope. It’s like driving a stake through the heart of a tiny little vampire that’s been gnawing away, sucking at my time and sanity. All I need is some nice arterial-red ink to have spatter around to complete the whole Hammer House of Horror illusion.
