I don’t know if there’s been a reputable scientific study on this, but why do paper cuts hurt so much more than ordinary cuts? Is it something to do with the ragged edge of the paper compared to the smooth edge of an ordinary cutting implement? Or is it some left-over chemical from the paper making process?

Yes, I know it’s just an odd combination of geographic and Masonic influence that resulted in the name, but I can’t think of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital without picturing someone wearing an odd combination of surgical scrubs, stetson and kilt…

I am not a cruel person.

If I had a list of personality traits ranked from 1 to 10, I’d probably have cruel at a -3 or something. On the other hand, I have a very strong anti-telemarketing bias. The two traits occasionally come into conflict.
