Loss of Lore

At a friend’s housewarming party last weekend, I was reminded of something that always irritated us when it occured in fantasy fiction. People would wind up making stupid mistakes because, long ago, someone lost the lore that would have told them they were about to screw up royally. Joel in particular could launch into an exquisite minutes-long rant about how upset he was at “Careless lore-losing M*********ERS!” without repeating a single profanity.

Greasy Bollywood Singer

This guy is very scary. He’s from a 1965 Bollywood movie called Gumnaam. The actual image of him is from a music video included with the DVD of the movie “Ghost World.” He looks like someone made a clone from the greasiest parts of Steve Buscemi and Elvis.

I need wakeup juice.

It’s Friday the 13th, and the workday is almost over. Or at least it should be. Right now I’m nearly dozing in the office, waiting for some software to finish installing.

The worst part of it is that the software install is my own fault. I was trying to add some functions to our web server and I wound up trashing the test machine I was working on.
