We’re back!

A rather uneventful trip. Nice and relaxing, actually. We didn’t stop for much other than gas on the way down, since we’d cooked up a batch of vegetarian mini pasties to nosh on while we drove.

Actually, I wound up doing the driving. It was such a nice day that it didn’t feel like a chore. The only bad part of the trip was that we forgot to keep one of our water bottles out of the freezer, so when we were thirsty our intake was limited to whatever had happened to thaw.

We tried a few experiments with the heated seats or the windshield defroster, but the method that worked the best was to simply prop the bottle up somewhere that the sun could shine on it…

The kitties were thrilled to see us when we got in, and we spent most of the night giving them scritchies and reminding them that we still loved them. Isaac was funny… He’s a very regal siamese and he likes to shred things to show his displeasure. Fortunately, he’s declawed. Even so, he spent a lot of time polishing the luggage as if it were responsible for the absence of his cat-parents.

Let’s see… That’s about it. I’ve been briefly overwhelmed with industrious mode, so a bunch of minor things are done.. The air conditioner has been put away, the wine cellar has been rearranged, the home network is back up and running… And I’m running a bit late for a friend’s dinner thing. Time to sign off…
